There is a great page where it is explained clearly how to set up a basic environment in order to start working whit MIDI in Linux. All the software mentioned in that webpage is available for Slackware in Slackbuilds.org. Instead of copy-paste what is already clearly explained in Felipe P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08215950201024530862noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15341983.post-89675157181167975622018-01-24T18:04:00.001-03:002018-01-24T18:04:58.300-03:00OSMC in Raspberry Pi 3To install OSMC in Raspberry Pi 3:
1. Download the image to install from the OSMC website. You need to choose the image for Raspberry Pi 2 / 3.
2. Unpack the image from the downloaded file:
gzip -d OSMC_TGT_rbp2_20180109.img.gz
4. Write the image into the SD card:
dd if=OSMC_TGT_rbp2_20180109.img of=/dev/sdb

So, in order to use Slackware in a system using this architecture, it is need to upgrade the kernel to someone above 4.5. In this case I used the version 4.8.10, the last stable available in that moment.
In general the upgrading was done by following Felipe P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08215950201024530862noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15341983.post-85189729436048083562016-07-27T16:18:00.001-04:002016-07-27T16:21:24.371-04:00Setting HidpiI did not set the DPI in Xorg. I just change in KDE the font DPI to 166 pp. This setting works fine for almost everything inside KDE but the xterm is not affected and the font looks tiny. In Window Maker everything looks small as well, but I don't know if it is possible to change that.
Another point to improve is the font size in the tty consoles, now it is very small. I works perfect in Legacy mode (BIOS), but I'm curious about how to do it in UEFI. These are a couple of options to do it.
1. Using the script usbimg2disk.sh located in usb-and-pxe-installers directory. There are two options to use it, but the second is which I found more useful, that Felipe P.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08215950201024530862noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15341983.post-81834206066409046032016-05-29T14:15:00.002-04:002016-05-29T14:17:43.147-04:00HibernationBy default, Slackware restarts from hibernation following the standard booting, loosing the state previously saved in the swap partition. The following notes collect important tips to consider in the installation of Slackware 14.
Before any modification in my computer I use to load a USB drive with Slax, in case something goes wrong I can use it to fix problems or to find help on Internet.
Download Slax
Install it in a USB drive (this erase all data in it).
Extract Slax inside it.

Lilo Configuration
By default Lilo gives two options of OS to start, Windows and Linux, and wait a minute to run automatically the first option. I just have Slackware in my PC so it is unnecessary that Lilo asks and wait.
To change the default Lilo behavior you have to change /etc/lilo.conf, this is what I have changed.
1. No waiting until systems starts. Comment prompt line
